Cameroon, to be a voice for a more rewarding and student-friendly educational system in Cameroon and
to directly confront the plight of young Cameroonians most notably the devastating effects of the
HIV-AIDS pandemic.

" 2007-'08 President's Address "
Fellow CAMSANs,
It is with honor and humility that I assume the position of 2007-2008 President of CAMSA-USA- USA. I want to seize this
opportunity to congratulate the outgoing National Executive Committee (NEC) led by Mr. Denis Foretia for the wonderful
accomplishments during their tenure. I must admit that the" New Way Platform" they introduced is pivotal for steering
CAMSA-USA in the right direction. My administration will continue from where they ended.
In addition to carrying on with this platform, my administration shall also task itself with bridging some of the gaps that
are noticeable within the organization. I will work to introduce civility in CAMSA-USA discourse so as to reduce unnecessary
public wrangling, finger pointing and any form of unhealthy behavior that undermines the CAMSA-USA spirit of oneness and
togetherness. My dream is to see a CAMSA-USA in which we work together for the benefit of all Cameroonian students and
deserving benefactors. Our ultimate goal is to redirect CAMSA-USA to the ideals of its founding fathers: To unite Cameroonian
students all over the USA. So, that together can create an atmosphere of brotherliness. Operational details of how to accomplish
these lofty goals will unfold with the year.
Where are we heading to? In spite of the presence of an executive, we all have one or more reasons why we are part of CAMSA-USA.
These reasons can only be understood if we use the communication tools available to us positively and to the fullest.
That is one way we can all realize our potentials.
this land of plenty.
What do I mean? The administration is here to meet up to the demands of its members and the public at large.
We cannot guarantee that all the demands would be met but we put in the fullest of our capabilities towards that. We will engage in an outreach program aimed at reaching out to all those who would like to contribute to CAMSA-USA both materially and otherwise. That is why a special email was created nec@CAMSA-usa.org. The purpose of this email address is ease communication with NEC. We are on our way to revamping and reenergizing the CAMSA-USA family. We will strive to restore hope and maximize our potential. We will listen to your concerns.
One of our main objectives is to reorganize CAMSA-USA chapters in various states. These are your chapters. It is essential that you be a part of this team because this is CAMSA-USA. We do not want to repeat the mistakes of the past. It is of essence that we work together in bringing the chapters back to life. We will be contacting Chapter leaderships to work out details.
Second to the above objective is membership. Membership is the lifeline of CAMSA-USA. We will seek to increase CAMSA-USA membership, fund raising and donations; Another major objective of my administration will be to work with the Judiciary Committee on constitutional amendments that were recently announced. The CAMSA-USA constitution needs to evolve and mature with CAMSA-USA. I’ll listen to the Chapters and to the Constitutional (Judiciary) committee.
Fiscal discipline has plagued past CAMSA-USA administration. My Administration will work to ensure that our organization is financially responsible. We shall ensure that there’s financial accountability and transparency. We will perform all the relevant audits and seek to recover CAMSA-USA revenue should any discrepancies be observed; As a 501(c) organization, CAMSA-USA is required by the IRS to make quarterly reports of its activities to the IRS. I will empower the treasurer to make these quarterly reports so as to bring us back into compliance. It is my pleasure to introduce Dr. Bertrand Fote as the newest addition to the judiciary committee.
The CAMSA-USA year has just begun. We are all on a mission and fellow members of CAMSA-USA would see this vision.
Last but not the least; Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce to you members of the National Executive Committee for the year 2007-2008.
PRESIDENT: Ms. Martha Pufong (Baltimore, MD)
VICE PRESIDENT: Ms. Joyce Mumah (Logan, Utah)

TREASURER: Ms. Alice Tomdio (Alexandria, VA)
