MISSION STATEMENT :
We seek to achieve success within ourselves, Cameroonians,
our local chapters, our community, our nation, and the world
GOALS & OBJECTIVES :
As an organization and a united front, we work to:
- Address challenges facing Cameroonian students in the United States by organizing programs, forums to help
promote professional and career development and enhance opportunities for academic success.
- Address concerns and problems facing Cameroonian students in the United states by serving as
a voice representing them and acting as a liaison to appropriate authorities including, but not
limited to, the Embassy of Cameroon to the United States.
- Promote cooperation between American educational institutions and educational institutions in
Cameroon for the mutual benefit and development of our brothers and sisters back home and here
in the United States.
- Promote in Cameroon the awareness of the opportunities, possibilities, and potential of the American educational system.
- Foster unity, friendship and camaraderie among Cameroonians in the USA.
- Contribute in an organized manner to the economic, cultural, and social development of our fatherland, Cameroon.
- Develop friendship and understanding through cultural interaction and communication among
ourselves as well as with students of other origins, nationalities and cultures.
- Promote amongst ourselves the constant awareness of the realities of life back in Cameroon,
particularly by affording our children the means of becoming acquainted and identifying with the
culture of their ancestral fatherland.
- Obtain for our membership the services, benefits, and advantages that a united and strong
student body might be able to achieve particularly through the formal representation of the
interests of our members and membership wherever and whenever there is need.
Through our various projects, we hope to positively impart the lives of our brothers and sisters in
Cameroon, to be a voice for a more rewarding and student-friendly educational system in Cameroon and
to directly confront the plight of young Cameroonians most notably the devastating effects of the
HIV-AIDS pandemic.
As a non-profit association, our projects are funded by goodwill donations from people like yourself and
we hope that you will help us achieve these projects by donating generously. CAMSA-USA is a 501(c)3
incorporated association and therefore all donations to us are Tax-deductible in accordance with Code
Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Service.

Dear CAMSANs, Cameroonians and Prospective
Members,
It is an honor to have been elected President of CAMSA-USA for the mandate 2010-2012. I would
like to sincerely thank you all for giving me the privilege to serve our beloved student
community in the US. I accept this responsibility with all humility and do promise to give my
best to improve the socio-economic and cultural aspects of student life in our community. We,
the entire Executive Board of CAMSA-USA, are very grateful for the confidence you have instilled
in us. We are ready to set the ball rolling.
We come to the leadership of this great group with the cognizance that there is a lot to be improved upon, a lot to be initiated and some unfruitful routines to be abandoned. As mentioned in my acceptance speech, much attention will be directed to some ongoing projects started by the previous administration of which I was the vice-president. These are projects which produced good feedback last year and have the capacity to do even better this year.
Below is the agenda for this administration’s first term of office:
1. Create local chapters / strengthen existing chapters
2. Help local chapters raise funds in their community and be engaged in the community
3. Continue with the book project. This project is intended to encourage a reading culture in
our fatherland-Cameroon. Last year 15.000 books were sent to schools and libraries in Cameroon.
This year we are projecting 17000 books will be sent.
4. Continue with the Fall Bush program. That is creating and fostering cooperation with schools
in the USA to provide an easy path for Cameroonian students to gain admission into their
institutions. Last year CAMSA-USA brought over 60 students, this year we have set a target of
100 students ‘falling bush’ from Cameroon.
5. Launch a scholarship project of 10.000 dollars to assist students in financial needs
6. Reinforce the link between the local chapters and soccer teams from their jurisdiction.
7. Continue with the ‘1000 Strong’ Campaign registered members
8. Promote educational activities in CAMSA-USA via symposiums, round tables, debates, exposés,
and volunteering in communities in Cameroon.
One of our goals is to create local chapters where needed and to fortify the already-existing
chapters. My team and I are ready to begin this task. CAMSA does not begin and end in August
during the annual convention, it is an all year organization, and it requires a lot of hard work, leadership, and dedication to make things happen.
We will continue with the book project, as our goal for the next two years is to exceed
the number of books the previously distributed in Cameroon by CAMSA. Therefore I am asking for
anyone with contacts to any book company that are willing to donate books to us; we will gladly
pick them up or pay for them to be shipped to us.
For our ‘Fall Bush’ program, we plan to continue working with the Midwestern State University in
Texas and other universities that are willing to partner with CAMSA-USA to promote Cameroon by
bringing students from Cameroonian Colleges and High Schools to their various schools. We will
work closely with the Education Committee and the Cameroon Embassy in Washington DC to help
raise funds to support needy students through scholarships programs.
In sports, we will require each team to have a student representative in their local chapter
board. We want the teams, the local chapter and the national chapter to all work together and
to be in one accord to ensure a better coordination of sports tournaments sponsored by our
organization.
Fellow Cameroonian Students, I wish to reiterate that the best way to make your voice heard is
to start by participating in CAMSA-USA-sponsored activities. Please consider becoming a
registered CAMSA member. It costs only $10.00 to be registered through our ‘1000 Strong’
Campaign that was launched last year under the previous administration. We greatly encourage
you to visit our website @ www.camsa-usa.org and sign up today. Become a member and link up
with your peers and colleagues from other states, colleges, and cities.
As a final point, we would like to re-vamp the spirit of togetherness by extending a warm
welcome hand to all the members of CAMSA who have since deserted us. You were once the
backbone of our strength as CAMSA and we are calling on you to come back to us so that
together, we can revitalize this great organization. Your individual participation, input
and insight will only go a long way to take us all to higher heights. We would like you all
to come mingle, bond, and exchange ideas with the current youth of today, your advice and
mentorship is invaluable as we try to tackle even bigger challenges and objectives.
Let us assure you that in our activities, the National Executive Board will be guarded by
no other principle than those of the Bible and the Constitution of CAMSA USA.
Thank you again for your trust in me and my team.
Before accepting the position of CAMSA-USA President, I thought much about the long way
we have come to be here today. For two years I represented the interests of CAMSA and
the Community of Cameroonian students as the Vice-President. It is only at this point,
that I understood the difficulties that were to be overcome would be easily won with a
leader encompassed by a team that was willing and accountable to the association. I am grateful
to my friends and family for their belief in me. This belief and confidence bestowed upon me,
has greatly empowered me to accept this leadership role.
Permit me introduce to you, the members (names and contact information) of the new National
Executive Committee of CAMSA-USA for the term 2010-2012.
